Moutcha Bay Resort is a remote destination dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism, located 2 hours west of Campbell River on Vancouver Island by road. We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures.

Who you are:

• You have Red Seal certification or equivalent in experience
• You have Food Safe Level 2 certification
• You have excellent kitchen management and leadership skills
• You are computer literate with a strong grasp of the Microsoft Office suite
• You can lift up to 30lbs and work while standing for prolonged periods
• You love to prepare quality meals with exceptional plated presentation
• You have a high standard for cleanliness and sanitation

What you’ll be doing:

• You'll be executing established menus under direction from the Resort Chef
• You'll assist the Resort Chef train, manage, schedule, supervise, and mentor the kitchen team
• You'll prepare menu items using standard recipes
• You'll prepare ingredients, stock stations, and perform cleaning duties
• You'll monitor inventory and order supplies
• You'll work on the line with the team
• You'll ensure that standards for customer service, professionalism, timeliness, cleanliness and sanitation are upheld
• You'll be helping to create memorable guest experiences

Working with us:

This position has an anticipated start date of May 1 and end date of September 24, 2023. Contract length is subject to change based on the demands of the season. This position's schedule is 5 on, 2 off.

Meals and staff accommodation are included in the employment package!

Schedule:

• Full Time
• 8 hours per day
• Excess hours will be banked as paid time off in lieu at straight time for all supervisory and managerial positions
