Position Title: Supply

Reports to: Principal

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, within the hours of 7 am – 6 pm

Compensation: Compensation will be determined by your level of experience.

The organization
The Montessori Country School is located in Milton, Halton Region, Ontario, Canada, and is a fully-licensed childcare centre and accredited Montessori school, that provides part-time and full-time programs for children ages 3 years to 6 years of age. Through the Montessori Country School – Milton, children receive care designed to help them develop their academic, emotional, and social skills, and grow the foundations they will need to succeed in life. Responsibilities:

• Support classroom needs by providing optimal physical, cognitive, social, and emotional wellbeing of the student in her/his care.
• Provides quality care to all students in a licensed educational environment (licensed under CCEYA and OFIS)
• Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
• Takes initiative in completing tasks without direction
• Directs and participates with students in all planned activities.
• Effectively supervises students on all scheduled school walks, field trips, and other outings.
• Maintains confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and the School as appropriate.
• Is sensitive to parent’s needs and maintains a supportive relationship with them on a professional level
• Complies with the Child Care Early Years Act and all MCS policies

Qualifications:

• Montessori experience is an asset but not required
• Passion for working with students ages 18 months through 6 years
• Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport with students and staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity, or cold.
• Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will be required to provide the following prior to the first day of work:

• Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification
• Successful completion of Police Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
• Up-to-date immunizations
