Position Details:

Afternoon shift: 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Mon-Thurs

Responsibilities:

• Layout, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural frames and machinery using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy and engineering requirements.
• Read, analyze and interpret mechanical drawings
• Recognize, set up an operate hand and power tools common to the trade
• Weld components using either SMAW or GMAW in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead)
• Work safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a welder/fitter in a similar industry/product
• Ability to work to close tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
• Strong math, communication and problem solving skills
• Positive attitude and able to work in teams
• Deftness and attention to detail
• Able to work after hours and weekends when required
• Occasional travel may be required
