Our Station Operations West Office is seeking a Temporary Winter Utility Persons (Seasonal – Winter Snow Crew) to provide additional resources during winter seasonal operations for snow and ice control; primarily performed during overnight hours. The Winter Utility Person also ensures the GO Transit facilities, grounds, and plant equipment operates, and is maintained in a safe and effective manner.

What will I be doing?

• Carries out remedial maintenance and, grounds-keeping, pedestrian traffic surfaces, landscaped areas and associated systems and equipment.
• Prepares records for the Supervisor relative to work accomplished, deficiencies noted, vehicle, and equipment and material usage.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and assigned tools safely and in a clean and serviceable condition and keeps log of serviceability.
• Monitors the operation of on-site contractors as generally instructed and refers any problems to Supervisor.
• Carries out the construction/installation of temporary and permanent fixtures, works and appurtenances.
• Carries out emergency measures resulting from environmental accidents.
• Performs snow and ice control services, utilizing de-icers, snow removal tools, equipment and materials.
• Oversees the work of other staff and contractors when assigned to do so.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

Available Shifts:

Location: 3500 Wolfedale Road Mississauga

Days of Work: Sunday to Thursday

Shift Hours : 2200 - 0600

Off Days: Friday to Saturday
