We are looking for a Licensed Electrician/Maintenance Technician for our Caledon facility!

We are looking for a 442A Electrician or Dual Ticket for our Caledon, ON facility!
(Must be licensed skilled trade Electrician (442A) or have dual ticket [433A and 442A] with Canadian experience
1st Shift, 6am-2pm, Monday - Friday and must be able to work alternating Saturdays

Summary:
Plans, coordinates and performs activities of electrical / maintenance department engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of electric power, lighting and communication systems of buildings, factories and transportation by performing the following:

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Plans new or modified installation to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
  • Pulls wiring through conduit.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connects power cables to equipment such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as Ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Proficient in fault diagnostics
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industrial Electrician with at least 2 years’ experience as a Journeyman Electrician or 442A License
Computer Skills:
  • Basic e-mail knowledge and Proficient with Microsoft office
Other Skills and Requirements:
  • Must possess valid driver license and forklift operator license.
  • Must have a valid journeyman electrical license.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
  • Awareness of downtime and urgency to perform maintenance tasks as required
