Summary:

Lavis Contracting specializes in road and highway construction and underground sewer and watermain for MTO, municipal and the private sector. As one of the leading road construction contractors and asphalt pavement producers in southwestern Ontario, we take pride in our workmanship, excellent customer service, and quality asphalt pavements. Lavis provides a wide range of Paving and Construction services for all types of clients, consistently delivering projects efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate equipment in an effective and safe manner.
• Follow safety precautions, procedures, and policies.
• Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner and be willing to comply with Lavis' safety commitments.
• To deliver products to customers on a timely basis.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound truck.
• Report to various job sites as requested.
• Complete CVOR related paperwork/Log book, Circle check etc.
• Assist with labour work on site when/if required.
• Safely operate milling machine and other construction equipment on job sites.
• Float equipment to sites throughout Southwestern Ontario.
• Ability to perform physical labour in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• AZ licence in good standing.
• Working near/on construction sites.
• Experience operating various types of equipment. Willing to train the right candidate.
• Daily exposure to construction environment.
• Mechanically inclined will be considered an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs/23kg.
• Previous construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Ability to perform effective verbal and written instructions.
• Must be highly productive, punctual, and reliable.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Flexible hours required to meet project timelines.
• Float experience is an asset but willing to train the right candidate.
