About Our Opportunity


The Clerk 2 (Financial Intake Clerk) provides various administrative support to the fast paced, high volume Eligibility Review office. In this role you are the initial point of contact for the unit in receiving financial applications for long-term care. You have the important responsibility of ensuring files get to the Eligibility Review Officers in a timely manner, so that rates can be assessed as needed, clients’ documentation is organized for reference purposes, and that confidential information is secure.

Primary Accountabilities


As the Financial Intake Clerk, you will perform various administrative support functions to help keep our office running smoothly and efficiently. You will achieve this by:


  • Performing accurate data entry into spreadsheets and databases (financial application intake);
  • Maintaining our file room;
  • Organizing and completing mail processing and input, faxing, and invoices;
  • Providing excellent client service when receiving phone calls from the public; and
  • Procurement duties.

Qualifications and Experience


As our next Financial Intake Clerk, you will have at least three (3) years of experience in an administrative support role.


You must possess proficiency in software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Ideally, you are a self-motivated team player who demonstrates the ability to work independently. To succeed in this role, you further demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your sound judgement, initiative, and diplomacy are also critical in this role.


While not required, is considered desirable if you have knowledge of STAR/STOR records management.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Equivalency


An equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered. Related equivalencies may include, but are not limited to:


  • A related diploma and one (1) year of experience
  • A related bachelor’s degree

Working Conditions


Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting. Occasionally you may need to move or lift objects such as boxes or files. You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies.


Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.

Pay Grade: CL 13

Salary Range: $1,450.14 - $1,578.47 Bi-Weekly
