The Position

Custom Concrete (Northern) is currently seeking a Concrete Plant Batcher to work out of our Timmins location.

Roles and Responsibilities

· The Concrete Plant Batcher’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· receives orders from customers

· prepares delivery tickets using computer software. Every order is entered into the dispatch software with the entire job, design mix, and customer information.

· loads trucks using computerized system

· assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries

· receives cash payments for shipments from drivers and prepares reports of sales

· monitors and maintain powder inventory levels

· coordinates and maintains aggregate inventories with loader operator

· troubleshoots plant efficiency issues

· coordinates with garage for truck and plant repairs as required

Skills and Abilities

· The Concrete Plant Batcher requires the following skills and abilities:

· professionalism when dealing with customers, vendors and fellow employees

· intermediate to advanced computer software skills

· ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously

· time management skills

· rapid problem solving skills

· ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

· expert phone listening skills

· ability to read maps and relay directions, familiarity with the Timmins area and surrounding region

· operation of common radio dispatch equipment

· ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions

· ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

· maintain a proper attitude under stress.

Physical demands include handling stressful situations with customers; extensive use of the phone; long hours may be required during busy season; early morning start hour may be required; and you must be willing to work any shift, which may include weekends or holidays

Qualifications

· High school diploma and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Experience in concrete, transportation, or related industry is preferred.

· Computer Skills - Microsoft Office including, Outlook and Excel, and Internet

· Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

· Excellent interpersonal skills including communicating effectively with those contacted in the course of work; analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions
