Overview
CCM Construction Ltd is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Safety
Coordinator, an individual who will provide health and safety leadership and promotes a culture of health and safety commitment to our work site as well as our office, work well in a collaborative and fast paced environment, and will demonstrate excellent judgment, good common sense, and be a quick learner. The ideal team member will perform duties in a spirit of partnership and teamwork, and be committed to the highest ethical standard and take pride in our tradition of excellent service to our customers, consultants, trades, suppliers and working partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct/Document Daily Site Inspections & implement effective corrective actions.
- Daily Head Counts & FLHA’s intake and hazard evaluation from Trades (Subs).
- Organize, Document & host Weekly Site Safety Meetings on all sites.
- Complete and submit Weekly Safety Reports.
- Conducting detailed Health & Safety Orientation for all new workers & Visitors.
- Maintaining & Enforcing Site Safety Rules & Regulations.
- Ensuring Strict Compliance with all WSBC Regulation & Company Occupational Health &
Safety Program.
- Documenting & Reporting all site Accidents/Incidents – Near Miss/Close Call events, developing and implementing effective corrective actions
- Monitor & Provide Feedback on developing site safety trends to ownership.
- Prepare and communicate emergency response plan as per phases of Construction.
SKILLS
- Strong organizational & communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Positive work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong working knowledge of local residential/commercial construction practices.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines.
- Other duties may be assigned consistent with the job description.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years minimum experience on commercial/institutional work sites
- WorkSafe BC OFAA Level-3 First Aid Ticket a bonus
- CSC Certification or equivalent experience and training
- Class 5 Drivers License
