Workforce Inc. is currently seeking a Control Room Operator to assist a client located 400 km’s west of Timmins.

This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a start-up mining company! Candidates must be prepared to travel in their own vehicle to the remote mine camp site. The Control Room Operator reports to the Mill Operations Supervisor and is responsible for monitoring the mill process and efficiently performing all required duties while maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that in all aspects of the operation, environmental policies and practices are followed keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority
  • Operate and monitor the computer-based control system within its parameters
  • Coordinate operations in a timely and effective manner with other departments
  • Mentor fellow operators in their roles
  • Inspect circuits regularly to detect any areas of concern and arrange for required maintenance as required
  • Ensure adherence to all pre-operational check and procedural requirements to safely start-up, efficiently operate, and safely shutdown all process equipment
  • Perform Lock Out and Tag Out procedures on processing equipment as required
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with Company policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Troubleshoot, correct, and report circuit upsets and equipment malfunctions when required
  • Complete and maintain shift logs and reports to the level of detail required, ensuring accuracy in the reporting of data
  • Assist with maintenance and perform other miscellaneous labour activities when required
  • Operate various pieces of auxiliary and mobile equipment when required
  • Share best practices and experiences with other operators to promote a strong and successful teamwork environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a gold mill plant
  • Preferably 2 years of experience as a control room technician
  • Some experience as a supervisor would be beneficial
  • Secondary School Diploma or GED
  • Mill Common Core required
  • Experience with Surface Emergency Response would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the Delta V Process Control System is considered an asset
  • Proven ability to analyze and solve process and mechanical problems

Schedule: 7 days on/7 days off, 12-hour days shifts OR 14 days on/14 days off, 12-hour shifts
