ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Lucknow Medical Centre is seeking a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse who will be
working in collaboration with two family physicians and an office administrator. Within a Family Health
Team environment, the ability to perform assessments and effectively communicate is key as the clinic
RN/RPN will be working closely with the physicians as well as patients to address their needs. The
successful candidate must be able to use their clinical skills to ensure our patients receive quality care
that is delivered with compassion.

This position is part-time, and the hours of work will be approximately 30-34 hours per week.
Hours may be flexible with the possibility of working full-time.



Your primary responsibilities will include:


Work alongside family physicians and office administrator 

Assist with taking patients to exam rooms and preparing rooms between patients 

Triage patients in the clinic; complete and document brief histories and perform vital sign
examinations (e.g. BP, P, weight, height) 

Screen patient charts and identify upcoming requirements (immunizations, mammograms,
FOBT) 

Manage patient's INRs with direction from the physicians 

Administer and record immunizations and various injections 

Discuss test results and educate patients as per physician's instructions 

Perform other procedures, which may include suture removal, wound dressing etc. 

Prepare equipment, ensure examination rooms are clean and stocked with required supplies 

Ensure inventory and order supplies/materials/immunizations 

Accurately maintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software Accuro 

Maintain in confidence all private and personal information, both written and verbal 

Assist physicians with various tasks as required



You will have:


Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 

Ability to perform complete and appropriate patient assessments 

Strong listening skills to maximize understanding of patient issues 

Ability to develop rapport and trusting relationships with patients 

Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and multitasking skills 

Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated through interactions with colleagues and patients 

Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills when assessing difficult situations.




Your qualifications and experience 

License in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario 

Current Professional Liability Insurance (RPNAO) 

Current vulnerable sector check 

1 + years of clinical experience in a family practice is an asset 

Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) is an asset
