JOB SUMMARY

The Front Line Production Supervisor assists with the planning, organizing, and evaluation of the beginning stages of ITB's production line. They are responsible for providing day-to-day training and assistance to employees in the departments of floors, walls, and roofs.

LOCATION

Our Coaldale, AB plant is located just off of highway 3 and is an easy commute from Lethbridge or Taber. We have roughly 100 employees and are continuing to expand.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisor Tasks

• Distribute the workload among employees according to their skill and capabilities.
• Monitor/review the target hours with employees after each job on each unit is completed.
• Conduct one on one and group training with employees, ensuring each employee is well trained for the task they are doing.
• Daily review of employee hours, time assigned to units, and approving time off requests.

Quality Control

• Inspect all units once assembly is completed, ensuring all components are installed correctly.
• Go through an updated copy of the sales order and change orders, making sure units follow the orders.
• Review drawings to ensure components can be built, communicating with Design, Purchasing and Sales when clarification is needed.
• Consult with Production Manager to assist in troubleshooting problems when difficult situations arise

Production Tasks

• Participate in daily production meetings, providing the Production Team with updates on units and estimated completion times
• Complete units within target hours, and by date set by the Production Manager.
• Use internal software to foresee upcoming needs and plan accordingly by getting all parts and equipment ready before the unit is brought into the shop.

Personnel Management

• Evaluate employee performance and productivity; referring any issues directly to the Production Manager
• Employee Reviews completed and delivered in partnership with the Production Manager.

GENERAL

• Know and enforce company safety rules, policies, and relevant occupational health and safety legislation
• Work in a professional and ethical manner
• Hands-on completion of tasks using hand, power and air tools when required
• Provide support for other departments as necessary
• Properly fill out daily time sheets and target hour sheets
• Develop effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors, always treating others with respect
• Be receptive to a changing environment and circumstances
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction
• Minimum 1 year leadership experience within a supervisory role

WORKING HOURS

• Permanent Full-Time
• Core hours are from 7:00am – 3:30pm, however, 44 hour weeks are expected.
