Parallel provides product and service solutions to some of North America’s largest resource-based sectors including Forestry, Mining, Aggregate, Steel Recycling, Biomass Energy and Hemp. We are a major construction contractor in Welding, Heavy Fabrication, Millwrighting, Electrical and General-Construction specializing in the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Mechanical and Electrical Equipment and Systems.

Due to increasing expansion, Parallel is hiring Full Time Ticketed Heavy Duty Mechanics for Heavy Duty Equipment Servicing and routine Equipment Maintenance at our heavy fabrication shop in Quesnel BC. As part of our Shop Team, the successful applicants will support major industrial projects and clients in BC, AB, and the United States.

Experience in servicing and maintaining Heavy Duty Equipment, Trucks and Trailers is essential. Familiarity with Industrial Trades and sawmill/mining equipment and environments is an asset. Work is primarily in the shop, but can also take place in the field.

REQUIREMENTS

· Ticket Required. Submit with application

· Heavy Duty Mechanic Experience (minimum 3 years experience)

· Excellent communication skills along with the patience to train and teach subordinates

· Must be dedicated to quality excellence with a superior work ethic

· Must be able to work unsupervised at times

· Must be drug free **

· Willing to work days, nights, weekends

· Current Safety or Training Certificates an asset (i.e., Fall Arrest, Aerial Platform, Forklift Operator)

· Red Seal Ticket an asset

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Complete repairs and maintenance on Parallel’s fleet of HD equipment including Telehandlers, Cranes, Manlifts, etc., and fleet of Trucks & Trailers

· Work in coordination with the Shop Foreman and Shop Superintendent to establish time frames for repairs and maintenance work.

· Work in coordination with Parallel’s Purchaser and Shop Foreman to order replacement parts.

· Drive to sites and assist with field repairs on Trucks & Trailers

· Complete applicable equipment, Truck & Trailer inspections per government specifications

· Work with shop hands and trades ensuring work is completed to Parallel and regulatory standards

· Keep work area clean and organized including cleaning up old parts, tools and any spills on the shop floor or laydown yard

· Complete hazard assessments and set controls in place for each task to ensure optimal safety standards
