The IT Infrastructure Technician/Field IT Technician will provide installation, inspection, and repair support to clients in numerous sectors and is perfect for someone who enjoys travelling to multiple locations throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in unstructured environments, think critically and problem-solve, and be great with client relations. This is an exciting new opportunity with the opportunity to advance your professional skills with on-the-job training!

Experience with IT systems, infrastructure, and networks is considered an asset, but not required.

POSITION DUTIES:

o Installation of networking and infrastructure equipment (i.e., cabling, switches, routers, servers, etc.)

o Installation of low-voltage server operating systems and relevant server programs

o Monitor and test equipment and networks to ensure they are running optimally

o Perform troubleshooting to isolate problems

o Adjust or calibrate equipment to improve performance

o Inspect and repair faulty, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment

o Provide customers with technical support and respond to client requests

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

o Diploma or degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, preferred, but will provide training

o Experience with IT systems, infrastructure, and networks

o Knowledge and understanding of networking protocols considered an asset (e.g., VPN, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

o Excellent customer service skills

o Ability to communicate effectively and explain technical information to a varied client base

o Organized with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively

o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

o Attention to detail

o Ability to think critically and work in unstructured work environments

o Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability

o Ability to work independently

o Valid driver’s licence – must have own vehicle

o Must be bilingual (French & English) for Montreal location.

o Some evening and weekend work may be required depending on the needs of clients (i.e., appointment-based)
