What will you be doing in the Machine Operator position?

This Machine Operator Trainee position will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team. The role will be based out of our Bolton, ON facility.

Shifts Available: Monday to Thursday Night Shift (4:30 PM - 3:00 AM)

Operating Responsibilities:

• Engaged in supporting MPS initiatives (i.e., Safety, SMED, Continuous Improvement, 6S, etc.).

• Lead by example to ensure Metrie’s core value is met; P.R.I.C.E (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence).

• Strong understanding of production scheduling system.

• Ability to set up and operate machines to the specifications of the manufacturer.

• Understand SAP functionalities, and the necessary production documents (with respect to your role).

• Ensure daily production continuously meets the requirements of IFOTIS (In full, On Time, In Spec).

• Quality checks as per department requirements.

Safety Responsibilities:

• Understand and apply all safety policies & regulations (5 Steps to a Safe Day).

• Trained and competent in Job Hazards (JH) as per the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA).

• Follow all lockout procedures mandatory within the department.

• Demonstrate leadership in accident prevention through LPA reporting.

• Conducting S.S.A’s as per scheduled requirements.

• Full knowledge of machine operating procedures as per SOP’s and hazard assessments.

• Frequent: Walking

• Occasional: Standing in the same location

• Constant: Standing

• Lifting: Floor to the waist, waist to floor

• Pushing / Pulling: Frequent when relocating production carts

• Hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity: Picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation
