We are currently seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our Underground Maintenance Team at our Goderich Salt Mine site in Goderich, Ontario. This is not a fly in / fly out position.


The Goderich Mine is located 1,800 feet under Lake Huron on the shores of Goderich, Ontario. It is the largest underground salt mine in the world and has been operating since 1959. This location employs over 500 people and annually produces 6.5 million tons of highway de-icing salt and chemical salt. It is transports product to customers around the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway via vessel, rail and roads. The salt is also used to make plastics, detergents, disinfectants, and other important products.


Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1 hour from London & Stratford, Ontario and a 1 ½ hour drive from Kitchener-Waterloo.


This underground position will be responsible to support the efforts of the Underground Maintenance group. It is mainly accountable for scheduling, data entry, verification, reclassification, and other duties as required. This position requires an individual who demonstrates a high level of organization and attention to detail.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Run KPI’s in regards to scheduling compliance
  • Liaison with multiple departments to perform parts review and audits
  • Proactively drive the electronic Equipment Document System initiatives to reduce paper documentation and other speed up information retrieval
  • Provide an effective document retrieval system, including manuals, calibration certificates, service reports, project installation files, site safety files, building support folders, risk assessments, etc.
  • Track and schedule required training and certifications
  • Refine and manage scheduling tool
  • Track cancelled work on important equipment – last pm, next pm due and reason for cancelling when cancelled
  • Binder system of backlog per CM/FCT – constant management - keep updated with current work orders
  • Schedule work for PDM and Lube Technician
  • Manage and organize MTC Supervisor vacation schedule
  • Full ownership of tracking and validating equipment hours/tons
Qualifications


You bring to the role:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent required
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar job function
  • Excellent interpersonal skills related to dealing with in a multi-shift environment
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in an office environment, payroll, accounts payable responsibilities preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Access) is a requirement
  • Enthusiastic team player who is easily adaptable and able to work with individuals at a variety of levels within the organization
  • Excellent time management skills; the individual must be well-organized and possess the ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm under stressful situations
  • Underground experience is preferred or have the ability to work in an underground environment

How Often Are You Here?

  • Monday-Friday; 8 hours per day. Overtime as required.
  • This position is required to work underground.
  • If you do not live nearby, you will be required to relocate. Relocation package available to those that qualify.
