Mill Operator 1 (Control Room)
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to fill this position. The successful candidate will have a high focus on overseeing all activities regarding requirements in the Mill Operations and monitoring the mill process and efficiently performing all required duties while maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment ensuring the safety and cost effectiveness, and for achieving overall corporate objectives of the Sugar Zone operation.
Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that in all aspects of the operation, environmental policies and practices are followed keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority.
• Operate and monitor the computer-based control system (Delta V) within its parameters.
• Coordinate operations in a timely and effective manner with other departments (i.e., Maintenance, Mining etc.).
• Mentor fellow operators in their roles.
• Inspect circuits regularly to detect any areas of concern and arrange for required maintenance as required.
• Ensure adherence to all pre-operational check and procedural requirements to safely start-up, efficiently operate, and safely shutdown all process equipment.
• Perform Lock Out and Tag Out procedures on processing equipment as required.
• Operate all equipment in accordance with Company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Troubleshoot, correct, and report circuit upsets and equipment malfunctions when required.
• Complete and maintain shift logs and reports to the level of detail required, ensuring accuracy in the reporting of data.
• Assist with maintenance and perform other miscellaneous labour activities when required.
• Operate various pieces of auxiliary and mobile equipment when required.
• Share best practices and experiences with other operators to promote a strong and successful teamwork environment.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Employees in this position must be willing to fill in as a relief supervisor when required.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Punctuality and regular attendance required
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in a gold mill plant.
Preferably 2 years of experience as a control room technician.
Some experience as a supervisor would be beneficial
Secondary School Diploma or GED.
Mill Common Core required.
Experience with Surface Emergency Response would be considered an asset.

• The work schedule will be 14 on, 14 off, 12 hour shifts
• Accommodations provided in White River, Ontario.
• Transportation provided between White River and the Sugar Zone Mine.
