Irwin's is currently looking to add experienced individuals to fill the role of Mine Labour Supervisor. This is a casual, project-based role that will be situated on a variety of sites throughout B.C and Alberta. The successful individual must be willing to travel as projects require.
The overall purpose of this role will be to provide supervision of field service workers executing Mine related projects.
Under the direction of the Specialized Labour Coordinatorthe specific responsibilities of this position include:
- To act as an on-site project lead, delivering customer satisfaction through effective management of schedule and team dynamics throughout projects
- To provide site safety oversight and technical rescue
- Coaching, mentor, and job shadowing new workers (on the job training)
- Manage performance of workers including completing project evaluations
- Monitor client satisfaction through ensuring completion of client satisfaction surveys
- Provide leadership and direction for employees and contracted personnel under their jurisdiction, delegating tasks and monitoring performance as required.
- Support the planning and execution for assigned jobs within the designated region.
- Ensure the Health and Safety of personnel through effective field implementation and monitoring to support the policies and procedures of Irwin’s Safety and the client.

Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience supervising field workers is preferred
- Previous experience working in an Industrial setting is an asset.
- Experience working with indigenous individuals and communities is an asset
- Understanding of mining procedures and processing is required
- Pulp and sawmill experience is a definite asset
- Mechanical aptitude or trades background will be given priority
- Experience rigging and installation of wear plates and tiles is preferred
- Must have basic computer skills and a working knowledge of office 365

- Must have a strong work ethic and be capable of working 12hr shifts
- Must be able to travel
- Must be physically fit. Capable of lifting, and standing for long periods
