We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to be responsible for all payroll-related tasks. The Payroll Specialist will administer the Canadian payroll function and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. To be successful as a payroll specialist, you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year of experience with payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Process, reconcile and audit bi-weekly payroll for Canadian employees.
• Process payroll for employees outside of Canada/Contractors
• Maintain personnel database regarding salaries
• Tracking employees’ vacation, sick days, and any days off
• Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs
• Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
• Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
• Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
• Support year-end processes, i.e., year-end adjustments, year-end tax statements and review of year-end tax filing information.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Payroll (Required)
• Experience in Payroll: 1 year (Required)
• Payroll Software: 1 year (Required)
• Experience working with Ceridian Powerpay (An asset)
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in Canada: 1 year (Required)
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in the US: 1 year (Preferred)
• Exceptional skill in Excel (Required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
• Exceptional multitasking and organizational and time management skills
• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Detail-oriented

This job is remote, from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Candidates must reside in Quebec Province, Canada.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
