This position may be located in any Environment and Climate Change Strategy office: Cranbrook, Fort St. John, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Nelson, Penticton, Prince George, Smithers, Surrey, Victoria and/or Williams Lake.
This position may be performed in other approved locations within the Province of BC. For specific information about a location, applicants must contact the Hiring Manager to confirm if working remotely from that location could be considered.

The Climate Action Secretariat (CAS), as a division of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, is responsible for leading and coordinating research, analysis, development and implementation of programs, strategies, policies, and legislation, that enable the mitigation of, and adaptation to, climate change, while supporting competitiveness and the development of a sustainable economy.
The Resilience and Indigenous Relations Branch has a dual role. The Branch’s Resilience Section provides cross-government support and leadership on climate adaptation. The Indigenous Relations Section provides leadership and support for government’s work with Indigenous partners on climate action, leads delivery of Indigenous community-based climate action programming, and provides a strategic hub for Indigenous partnerships, engagement, and consultation on climate action, including legislative and regulatory development.
The Branch, including the Indigenous Relations Section, works extensively with First Nations; Indigenous leadership, communities, and service organizations; other ministries; the federal government; local authorities; and other external partners such as academic institutions and NGOs.
The Senior Policy Analyst coordinates and leads the research, analysis, development and implementation of strategic policies and legislation the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy’s Climate Action Secretariat, within the Resilience and Indigenous Relations Branch.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- A Master’s Degree in public administration, business administration, social sciences or equivalent and at least 1 year of related experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience; or a Diploma and 4 years of experience; or a Certificate or coursework and 5 years of related experience.
Related experience must include:
- Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and policy.
- Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments
- Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content
