We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 23 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites.

We are currently looking for a Full-Time Regional Support Generalist located in Toronto, ON reporting to the General Sales Manager.

Position Summary

The Regional Support Generalist is a cross-functional role providing support to the internal and external Sales team. This individual works closely as acts as a liaison for inventory across the region, ensuring we protect key clients and programs, and as a resource our clients and our sales groups. They will also be heavily used to analyze our business, provide recommendations around inventory, actively manage aged inventory, and work with other groups within our national business and segments.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Regional Support Generalist include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyze inventory across Central Region, ensuring key clients and programs are protected to the best of our ability
  • Analyze programs across the region vs inventory profile and provide recommendations
  • Work with our diversified segments and Inventory Champions from across Spicers Canada, evaluating requests for inventory or the efficacy of new programs coming into the business
  • Implement pricing changes and work with Purchasing and Price Book teams to ensure our branches are always updated on costing, resales, and product information
  • Be an expert at our AIIM system for Central
  • Actively collaborate and analyze inventory and operations with Spicers Management and Executives
  • Sourcing / Replenishing Inventory
  • Create, monitor, and maintain discount references for key accounts
  • Approve or decline requests from Inside / Outside sales on programs / orders from clients
  • Implement negotiated contracts off-list pricing for customers
  • Update pricing discounts to reflect price changes and cost increases
  • Maintain the main Commodity Folio Bucket list
  • Maintain national contracts across Canada (when applicable)
  • Provide updated price lists to Account Managers/Outside Sales Representatives
  • Monitor customer purchasing trends and make suggestions to optimize profitability
  • Run semi-yearly queries in A+ to maintain and update pricing in the system
  • Support the Inside Sales and Outside Sales Departments as required
  • Credit and re-bill invoices to rectify pricing discrepancies and issue credits
  • Provide support to the e-commerce via GOspicers
  • Support the Finance and Accounts Payable Department as required
  • Create monthly rebate reports
  • Generate rebate reports and mill-backs for various mills each month
  • Liaise with mills regarding the payment of outstanding mill-backs
  • Generate monthly sales reports for applicable accounts
  • Create ad-hoc sales reports for General Managers, Sales Managers, or Sales Representatives and analyze trends regarding price discounts, and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent education;
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ related work experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of Company and competitor products as well as paper distribution, graphic designs, and printing process;
  • Experience with financial analysis and management is considered an asset;
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written);
  • Proficient in using MS Office;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Strong organization and time-management skills;
  • Punctual, dependable, and reliable;
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills;
  • Self-directed and self-motivated; and
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Working Conditions

  • Able to work on a computer for numerous hours which may result in strain on wrists, eyes, back, etc.;
  • Ability to work in a busy, open area office;
  • May have to spend long hours in concentration which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
  • This position faces a number of deadlines which may cause stress; and
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
