Security Guard Job at OPENLANE
ADESA Ottawa (located in Vars ON) is one of ADESA Canada's wholesale vehicle auctions that are located across Canada, coast to coast and the employer of choice in the Canadian automotive remarketing industry.
We currently have an opening for a permanent full-time Security Guard.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the General Manager or designated manager, the incumbent is responsible to secure all gates, checking all incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper authority to enter or exit.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for site security by maintaining auction perimeter as well as proper authorized clearance for personnel and customers, transport and supply companies and by ensuring all site policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Inspect the fence line for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.
- Provide customer service by assisting dealers in finding and/or shipping vehicles as well as assisting customers with general inquiries.
- Ensures all vehicles are traceable by documentation.
- Maintain a good flow of communication with other auction personnel.
- Required to check in/out vehicles with an electronic handheld device
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working as a Security officer is an asset
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; bilingualism is an asset
- Good computer skills
- Proven ability to work as team player
- Must be a dedicated and hardworking individual with a background in good standing
- Ability to work in different weather conditions
- Must be able to work shift work, including evenings
- Valid G driver’s license required
- Valid Ontario Security license required
