SUMMARY

New West Truck Centres is looking to enhance its finance team by adding a Senior Accountant. Working with the Assistant Controller and Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance team ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting. The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will include (and not limited to):

· Working with the Assistant Controller to complete month-end process and ensuring that the trial balance is complete and accurate

· Completing various account reconciliations on a monthly basis and resolving issues identified by tracking down supporting documentation and making adjusting entries. These reconciliations include, but are not limited to:

o Bank reconcilations

o Short-term and Long-term debt

o Parts Inventory and Truck Inventory

o Obsolescence calculations

o Prepaid Expense

o Capital Assets/Property, Plant and Equipment

o Foreign Exchange Translation of foreign denominated accounts

o Shareholder loans and Intercompany Receivables/Payables

o Accrued Liabilities

· Record Truck sales, calculate sales commissions and complete reporting/analysis associated Truck sales

· Preparation of supporting documents for auditors (both financial statement and tax) and assisting the CFO and Assistant Controller with ensuring audits are completed with no major issues

· Filing of sales tax returns (GST, PST, RST, QST, etc…) & performing reasonability testing to ensure no exposure to company.

· Daily Sheet/FLASH reporting (daily metrics tracking)

· Assisting with ERP system set-up and recommending improvements/automation

· Reconciling and invoicing various 3rd Party billbacks to ensure all costs are recaptured accordingly

· Ad Hoc Projects as assigned by Assistant Controller and CFO

QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA or CPA candidate
• 2-3 years’ experience preferably in external audit/assurance
• College Diploma or University Degree in Business Accounting, Finance or related field

· Excellent Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis purposes

· Experience with various ERP systems considered an asset

· Experience in the heavy truck industry would be considered an asset
