Shop Helper Job at Express Employment Professionals
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Shop Helper for our client located in Calgary Deep South East. The position is potentially long term -full time, 5 days per week, Mon-Fri, 7:00AM to 3:30PM schedule.
Summary of Responsibilities
Perform general task in Material Moving, Sandbalsting, Painting and General Shop Cleaning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Material moving using overhead cranes up to 3 ton.
- Sandblasting (using a reach through blast cabinet)
- Painting (by brush and/or spray cans)
- Light assembly, or fitting of parts
- General shop cleaning
- Help in all areas as instructed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Dependable to report as scheduled.
- Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling relatively light weights – not 100% of the time but the job is physical and requires reasonable stamina.
- Read and write English and follow written and verbal instruction.
- Proficient use of tape measure and ability to accurately measure lengths.
- Ability to safely move material without injury or property damage.
PPE Required:
- Steel Toed Boots (own)
- Safety Glasses (provided).
PPE Optional:
- Gloves & Face mask (provided).
- Coveralls or Work clothing (own)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Sandblasting and Painting: 1 year (preferred)
- Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
- Overhead Crane: 1 year (required)
- Forklift: 1 year (preferred)
