A role you will love

The VP, Business Development, Issuer Services - Canada is to lead sales efforts and achieve targets within a specified territory. You will be responsible for targeting companies that will be raising capital in the public equity markets & developing relationships and working partnerships (e.g. Law Firms) that enable Computershare to achieve a preferential position in servicing these companies. Focus will be on Computershare Issuer Services Registry and Transfer Agency portfolio and may include Private Markets Platform, Transfer Agent, Equity Plans, IPO Services and Entity Management software – as well as being able to speak to the broader portfolio. This individual will work closely with the Canadian Leadership Team; and will have a direct reporting relationship with the Executive Vice President of Issuer Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute a plan designed to achieve trusted vendor status with new Issuers, Law Firms, PE/VC and Private Company portfolio services firms based in (but not limited to) Canada. Additionally, focusing on net new Private & Public Company Customer acquisition and working with other members of the Sales Team to win net new revenue opportunities will be key.
  • Achieve 100% of TCV and Bookings targets and assigned deliverables as determined by the EVP of Issuer Services Sales
  • Work with Product, Client and Sales Specialists to develop, implement and execute a plan to increase market share with the assigned territory. Create and maintain a process for developing partnerships (Law Firms, Private Equity and Venture Capital, etc.) that lead to engagement with clients seeking IPOs, Direct Listings, or other funding vehicles
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop programs and campaigns that strengthen the position of Computershare in key vertical markets/Private Equity/Venture Capital vertical.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as Computershare Management dictates

What will you bring to the role?

  • 10+ years of domain and business development experience working within the Financial Services, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Institutional Investment Firms and/or Portfolio Services (e.g., Legal) organizations
  • Experience establishing commercial arrangements with the General Counsel, Corporate Secretaries, and Investor Relations constituencies across various sized Corporations
  • Unwavering commitment to personal performance, and a history of success exceeding annual quotas or assigned deliverable targets
  • Ability to navigate large complex organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all buyer personas (individual contributor to C-level
