The Opportunity

Wages: $17.59 to $22.89

DUTIES
The warehouse driver provides scheduled delivery service to the Good Samaritan Society (GSS). Duties may include:

• Ensure vehicle is kept clean and is driven and maintained in a safe manner
• Monitor vehicle requirements, such as fluid levels and preventative repairs, on a scheduled basis
• Drive GSS vehicle on a scheduled delivery run picking up and delivering supplies for GSS including distributing mail, picking up post office mail and hot patching
• Obtain signatures for deliveries at the site
• Clean the warehouse daily including shelves
• Put orders on shelves and put away surplus
• Pick-up and delivery of emergency orders and special requests
• Move beds, furniture and appliances
• Deliver bank deposits
• Support the Warehouse Assistant and Buyer as required

Educational Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Warehouse or distribution training
• Must possess a valid Alberta Driver’s License

Work Experience:

• Established warehouse distribution experience
• Experience working with professional groups Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Fully knowledgeable in the operation of machines and equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner
• Conversant with safety, WHMIS, security and fire regulations for the warehouse
• Demonstrate flexibility by changing routine to accommodate client/resident needs
• Accept, implement and evaluate change with a positive attitude
• Adept at written and oral communication with internal and external customers
• Exhibit an open and sincere approach by demonstrating respect and compassion for everyone equally
• Maintain an individual's dignity and self worth during conversations
• Excellent active listening skills

Requirements:

• A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
• A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
