We are looking for a Electrician/Millwright (or Dual Ticket) for our Caledon, Ontario plant!Candidate must be licensed skilled trade electrician (with a 442A), millwright (with a 309A or 433A) or have dual ticket [433A and 442A] with Canadian experience.

Signing Bonus of $1000. for 2nd or 3rd shift

Plus a 5% shift differential for 2nd shift and a 10% shift differential for 3rd shift

Opening on 2nd or 3rd shifts

Starting pay is $44.00/ hour

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as machinery, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepared to work in a rotating 8 hour shift pattern plus overtime
  • To be available for overtime as needed or required by management and flexibility in times taken for breaks / lunches to support production and maintenance activities
  • Licensed skilled trade millwright or dual ticket [433A and 442A]
  • Experience in a continuous automated production environment is essential
  • Strong troubleshooting ability is a must
  • General machining essential, cutting, grinding, drilling, milling, electrical, plumbing, fabrication.
  • MMA and MIG welding a necessity
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
  • Established experience with; Bearings, Belts, Chains
  • Basic Automation skillset
  • Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who uses a 'hands-on' approach
  • Proven ability to complete tasks within specified timeline.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Windows and e-mail
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S regulations
  • Forklift/Scissor lift/Arial Work Platform license preferable
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Promotes a sense of urgency and supports all Health and Safety initiatives
  • Maintain safe condition of maintenance area and any areas worked in
  • Handle individual responsibilities & be a team player
  • Maintain equipment inventory to minimize downtime
  • Conduct, Uphold & Stimulate routine PM system
  • Modify and fabricate equipment, assist with installation of new equipment
  • General facility maintenance as required, including structure, lighting, doors, HVAC, etc.
  • Sustain structured communication environment
  • Hands-On repairs to a variety of equipment; Pumps, Conveys, Roll formers, Motors, Gearboxes etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Licensed skilled trade millwright (with a 433A), electrician (with a 442A) or have dual ticket [433A and 442A] with Canadian experience

Other Skills and Requirements:

  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Must possess valid driver license
  • Must be able to take training to obtain a valid forklift operator license

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Comfortable with riding a trike with tools to respond to breakdown calls
