QC Technician Job at Intech International Inc.
The QC Technician is responsible for ensuring adherence to the organization’s quality program requirements with regard to Field Services projects and providing independent verification on quality related inspections.
This position reports to the QC Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake complex technical assignments that are a significant part of an ongoing quality program, in support of project activities.
- Perform quality control duties on projects/sites, including:Perform monitoring of processes via MITPs.
- Ensure procedures are adhered to during project execution.
- Verify and maintain training records electronically in GTS or on paper records.
- Perform NDE related responsibilities on projects. This may be in a radiological environment.
- Perform material receipt and in-process inspections to ensure compliance to company standards, technical specifications, and the ASME code.
- Assist with the review and completion of Work Packages/History Dockets.
- Assist with procedure and MITP reviews.
- Perform vendor source inspections, as required.
- Train and lead new QC trainees, where required.
Experience:
- Post-secondary NDE/Quality Technologist diploma or related education.
- CGSB Level 2 certification in other NDE methods is an asset (i.e., Liquid Penetrant Level 2).
- CWB Level 1 certification (CWB Level 2 is an asset but not required).
- Extensive site work/travel (up to 50%).
- A NDE background with a solid knowledge of all NDE process is an asset.
- Proficiency with the ASME Code.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable going inside manways.
- Comfortable going through tight and narrow access ducts.
- Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable receiving dose and working in a radiation environment (approximately 50-100 mrem for the entire job).
- Able to do shift work.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Able to work long hours.
Technical Requirements:
- Read weld drawings.
- Review WPS parameters.
- Perform measurements (+/- 2mm) while working in challenging environments.
- Work with ITPs.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work independently or in a group atmosphere.
- Must be able to travel between sites - a vehicle is required.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with Site Managers, Field Engineers, Authorized Inspectors.
- Must be able to work at the following locations: Cambridge, Pickering, Bowmanville, Tiverton, Port Elgin
- Candidates must have valid Site Access Security Clearance to work at nuclear power plants.
