YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
The Assay Lab is part of the Process Plant team. It has a very important responsibility within the organization, as it receives and analyzes samples from geology, metallurgy and environment. The results from the Assay Lab are critical to guide decision for mining and processing of the ore. We like to say that the Assay Lab team are the “eyes” of the mine.
As an Assay Lab Trainee, you we be required to:
- Attend our specifically designed 42-day training (3 rotations) at the Meliadine mine site;
- Learn the key tasks and manipulations including :
- Sorting, organizing and drying samples
- Crushing & pulverizing material;
- Verify particle size for crushing and pulverizing processes;
- Use computer software to track samples and process results;
- Perform basic equipment maintenance (example: daily cleaning, lubricating, etc.);
- Develop the ability to maintain a clean and organized work place;
- Those who successfully complete the program will be hired as full-time, permanent Agnico Eagle employees with the Assay Lab Department.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Willingness to learn;
- Possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
- An interest in mathematics would be an asset.
