Job Opportunity
SWTCH is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to support the development of our electric vehicle (EV) charging platform. Reporting directly to the Director of Product, you’ll help with technical design and implementation of new features, peer code reviews, building integrations with technology partners, incorporating customer feedback, and troubleshooting bugs. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development and/or engineering in an agile development environment. The SWTCH team is lean, motivated, and driven by our mission to realizing a clean energy future.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop core platform features to enable variety of functionalities
• Develop and maintain API endpoints to enable partner, user-facing, and internal monitoring and control applications
• Able to effectively prioritize the demands for tight deliverable deadlines and high-quality on software projects
• Collaborate with Product Owners, PMO, Designers, QA, Software Developers and DevOps team to deliver high quality releases on time and within scope

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years Ruby on Rails development experience
• 2 years of React.js development experience
• 2 years of Node.js development experience
• Experience with building verbose data-fetching and querying architectures (Postgres, GraphQL, Nexus, Working around N+1 query problems)
• Experience in building relational database linking, as well as authorization to securely retrieve them
• Experience with SQL schema design and query optimization
• Experience with distributed systems and micro-services
• Experience in working with deployment pipelines for dynamically deploying customer sites and production systems
• Experience with APIs for managing e-commerce workflows and resources
• Experience with testing frameworks such as RSpec, Factory Bot, Capybara, VCR and WebMock
• Experience with RBAC, Authentication and Authorization (OAuth, Token based)
• Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills
• Understanding of and passion for clean energy and mobility sectors
• Understanding asynchronous programming
