Hi-Beam Group is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our growing team at our Vancouver Head Office. In this role, you will be responsible for full cycle accounting for all our contracted jobs as well as development projects, accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparation and distribution of various internal and external financial statements, data entry and cash flow preparation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee accounting for multiple companies
• Coordinate an efficient and timely monthly close process and GL accounting functions to ensure timely financial reporting including preparation of adjustment entries, regulatory filings, and monthly reconciliations
• Ensure compliance and reporting for all government programs including GST, WCB, EHT, Payroll Remittances, Corporate Tax.
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to posting and payment
• Monitor and ensure costs are correctly allocated to correct projects, labour and expense cost codes.
• Generate various project financial statements and reports. Track holdback accounts and coordinate holdbacks with subcontractors, Project Managers, and the accounting department.
• Assisting Management with preparing the annual budget and variance analysis
• Lead, oversee and mentor a growing accounting team
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Finance or Accounting at a large complex organization – ideally in Construction
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in QBO and QB Desktop. Experience with a Construction Accounting software would be an asset
• Proficient at working in a digital/paper-free environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting
• Can adapt quickly to new processes, enjoy a fast paced environment, and can manage changing priorities
